Course Description
“Title 24” is the “California Building Standards Code,” which is part of the California Code of Regulations. The regulations within “Title 24” govern the design and construction of buildings, structural safety and sustainability for public schools in California, community colleges, and state buildings, and accessibility requirements for public accommodations. Title 24 has twelve (12) parts. “The California Building Code” is Part 2 of those twelve parts. The 2021 International Building Code of the International Code Council is the basis of the code with the California amendments. “Chapter 11B” of The California Building Code provides the regulations for “Accessibility to Public Buildings, Public Accommodations, Commercial Buildings, and Public Housing”. This course will detail what is required to be accessible as outlined in “Division 2” of Chapter 11B and explain how to make those elements accessible as delineated in the remaining divisions of that chapter.
